Apple Recipe Photo3 for blog

Growing up, my family enjoyed a plethora of fresh fruits straight from our backyard trees, bushes, and gardens. In my opinion, nothing tastes better than eating a tart, juicy apple on a crisp fall day.

I was devastated the first fall season after my digestive problems started. Not only were fruits off my radar due to the high sugar content, I was unable to digest raw foods, especially apples. Trips to the farmers market ended with me drooling over the beautiful array of apples. Remembering childhood traditions, including my mom’s homemade apple pies, and cobblers always left me yearning for that nourishing feeling cinnamon and apples provide.

A couple years later I experimented cooking green apples and realized I could digest them. Granny Smith apples have a lower sugar content than most, and are fabulous for cooking as they hold structure more so than sweeter varieties.

Crunchy Chunky Cinnamon Apple Delight is a comforting healthy treat this winter season. The cinnamon and pumpkin seeds give it a cobbler-esque, taste.

Let me know what you think. Enjoy!
